This will be a muddy, 3-4 hour birding adventure through the grasses to shoreline. Leaving the Dike Trail, the group will head off onto the dirt path out through the meadow to the low tide line. Shorebirds and waterfowl ought to be found along the water’s edge and waterways, and there is a possibility to see raptors and migrating songbirds in the meadow. Participants need to be ready to be in and around shin-deep mud. Rubber boots are highly recommended. Although this is a casual bird walk, it is a longer and more strenuous hike than our usual hikes.
