The group will meet at the western end of Sunny Drive (looking toward the airport, not toward downtown). Sunny Drive is accessed from the old Glacier Highway, not from Egan Drive. This wetlands bird walk highlights the Tree Swallow Nesting Box project, and the conservation efforts of SEALTrust on this rebounding tidal flat. Other various birds such as Greater Yellowlegs, Starlings, Yellowthroats and Lincoln’s Sparrows may be seen here. Rubber boots are recommended. (High tide 11.0’ at 8:44 am) Beware of high tide.
Location: Sunny Point, SE AK Land Trust (SEALTrust) parcel at the end of Sunny Drive
